Surrounded by the Romduol, OUR national flower, she stands within the letter “C” a symbol of Cambodia, KHMER culture, and the country we proudly call OUR Ancestral HOME. In her hands, she carries lotus flowers, a timeless symbol of Purity, Resilience, and the strength to rise and flourish through adversity. In her hair rests the Champei, a beautiful reminder of the natural beauty found throughout OUR Kingdom.

Draped gracefully in OUR traditional KHMER Sbai, a garment whose presence can be seen throughout the ancient art and stone carvings of ANGKOR, she carries another piece of OUR KHMER heritage with her. The elegant cloth resting across her shoulder is more than part of her attire, it represents generations of OUR KHMER tradition, Artistry, and Identity passed down through time.

But what I wanted this piece to represent goes deeper than beauty.

She represents the Grace, Strength, and quiet Resilience of OUR KHMER women. She carries the elegance of OUR KHMER traditions, the spirit of OUR KHMER Ancestors, and a culture that has endured through generations and continues to live through us today.

Every flower, every branch, and every detail of her clothing was created with intention. The vine grows around her without defining her, because OUR KHMER culture does not simply surround us, it grows with us. It lives in the language we speak, the traditions we preserve, the stories we pass down, and the pride we carry wherever life takes us.

Whether we were born in Kampuchea or grew up thousands of miles away, there is something powerful about reconnecting with where we come from. Kampuchea is more than a place on a map.
